In the burrow

As Skylier was in the burrow with Flower she had relized thet there was not everyone was there. She tried to peek out to see but the other members were blocking it. She was scared that the other Meerkats were going to die. They did not want to die and she did not want anyone to die on her first day here as a member. She hated to do anything with dieing that she could not get out and help the others.

Skylier was scared for the other Meerkats just as much as she would be for her own life at the time. She tried to get to Flower her new leader but there was too many meerkats in front of her to get there. She tried to ask others to move but they acted as if they did not here her at all. She tried to ask again but the some responce. She tried to get her attention but it was like everyone was in a trace.

Flower made sure that most of the Meerkats were present. She finally came to the conclusion that 6 of The Dominators were missing. Flower was worried about what would happen to the other Meerkats. 6 Meerkats living alone in the ruthless Kalahari Desert would most likely die. Flower was disappointed in herself even though she knew that groups got split up often she didn't want this to happen to her's.

After about 10 Minutes Flower had the courage to see if the hawk was gone. Flower slowly looked out of the Bolt Hole and noticed no Hawk. Flower didn't even bother to tell the others because in Meerkat Society If meerkats don't hear an alarm call from the bolt hole they know that it's safe to come out. Flower stretched her legs out and waited for the group to join her.

Once a few of them came out they all started grooming each other. The Bolt hole that they scurried into was infested with fleas and ticks. Luckily grooming helped Meerkats get rid of the pests.

She went outside with the others and theyhad got done grooming eachother and she was left to groom herself sadly. She tried to introduce herself but she might need Flower to help with that situation. She was followed by many of the other Meerkats at the time She went over to Flower to ask her about the whole introduction thing. She approtced the Leader swiftly and on her toes.

She stared by saying the following. "Hi Flower I was wondering that you may be can help me with the inrtoductions I seem to not get anyones attention so that is why I came to you." Skylier said to the brave and fearless Leader. She looked up to her like she was the best person ever. She watched the fight for the leader and she was amazed by how she fought it what amazing. She love to have someone like her.

After everyone had finished grooming Flower noticed that no one bothered to groom Skylier. She pushed the thought aside for a moment so she could get the group foraging again. The Kalahari is a pretty warm and flourishing place but in the winter its bare and dry. Flower would find out later if her letting Skylier into the group was a good idea.

Flower watched over her group proudly when Skylier approached her. Flower smiled and groomed her a bit. She did feel bad for the female meerkat, mostly because no one even bothered to notice her.

Hi Flower I was wondering that you may be can help me with the inrtoductions I seem to not get anyones attention so that is why I came to you

Flower smiled and replied, "Yes I did notice that and don't worry I'll take care of it." With that Flower went onto a rock and got all of their attention. "Everyone as you may have noticed we have a new member in our strong group. Her name is Skylier and I expect her to be treated equally even though she isn't a born Dominator." Everyone nodded and looked at the new female in the group. Flower smiled and went back to digging in the dirt. One problem that worried her was what the males of the group would react to her sudden arrival.

Skylier was thankful that Flower was going to help her in the introductions. She was with one male named Heir at the time and he was flirting with her non stop. She had never had a male Meerkat flirting with her ever and she quite liked it. She was shocked and happy at the same time actually. Skylier thought he was pretty handsome and she was lucky to have that meerkat flirting with her.

She was kind of flirting with him also. "Hey Heir so what do you do in this group?" She said twisting her ankle on the ground kind of imbaressed.

He was really sweet and said "I would love to help you miss Skylee. I do that for a living and would love to assist you."

Skylier was pleased but wanted to show Flower that she can do it by herself with no assistance but he helped her anyways. He had already made a cute nick name for her.

Flower looked around after she had her head in the ground for about 5 minutes. Flower was hungry and she would do anything to get some food. Flower noticed that Will , her son, had found a juicy centipede and Flower rushed over to him. She pushed her son out of the way and stole his centipede. Will didn't give up without a fight though. To show that she meant business Flower growled threateningly and Will immediately backed off.

Flower happily munched on her newly gained centipede. After Flower ate the centipede she began to dig again. After a while of her fruitless digging Flower stopped and looked up in the sky. She could tell that the sentry was hungry but he stayed on guard duty. Flower sighed if there was an unrelated male in the group he would be the Dominant Male and he would help out with guard duty. Unfortunaltely Flower had no mate and therefore the group wouldn't expand without her letting in lone rovers such as Skylier.

Flower looked around and saw her brother Heir talking with Skylier. Flower didn't like this one bit. If Heir wanted to mate with Skylier than she could become Dominant Female of the Dominants. Flower growled and approached the two. She immediately began chin swiping and hip slamming Skylier. Flower wanted to stay Dominant and she would stay Dominant as long as she kept an eye on the rival subordinates. In this case her rival was Skylier and if she made any bad moves Flower would most likely evict her.

When Flower pushed her away from Heir she was pretty mad. She did not like when others did that but since Flower was Dominate she did not want to interfere. She thought that they were either related or that they were together. She thought what to do next but she just said "Why did you do that to me Flower? Are you two related or something?' Skylier said to Flower. She was wondering her responce.

She saw a canipede skwirm and she bit it. She was eating it happily. Heir said the same thing to Flower as she did right afret her. She liked Heir very much and wondered if her felt the same way towards her. She was waiting for something to happen and wondered who was on watch now that Flower was here.

Flower and her brother Heir were having a stare off. He obviously liked Skylier and she must have liked him. This would not bode well with Flower at all. Flower was making the group stronger than ever before. Flower did love her mother Juno but she wasn't a very strong leader. Maggie would have been the worst leader in the history of The Dominators and that is why Flower was the leader. Flower wasn't going to let some Roving Female intrude and take over as Dominant Female.

Why did you do that to me Flower? Are you two related or something?

Flower snarled a bit and replied, "He is my brother if you must know. Now you are never to see her again got that!" Flower snarled at her brother. All he did was nod, but Flower could tell that he wasn't going to give up. Flower did know one way to get him to stop talking to her though. If Flower ever did find out that the two Meerkats were talking or meeting secretly she would evict Skylier. Skylier could always try to get back into the group but that would be very unlikely.

((Just to let you know you can still meet with him in secret and Flower could suspect something but have no proof whatsoever. ))

She and Heir were looking into eachothers eyes lovingly and she knew right then that he did truely like her too. She wished that she could talk to him and she thought that she still could secretly. She liked him and he liked her. She knew that in his mind he knew that too and her knew how to sneak past his sister. She got up adn bowed her head and walked away.

When Flower was gone he rushed toward her and told her o this secret place that Flower surprisingly did not know about. They want there together is secret and kept glancing back to see if Flower was looking and she was not. They scurried over to the meeting place and talked and he did in fact ell her that he loved her like no other Meerkat in the group.

Flower being content with what she explained to the two meerkats went back to foraging. Flower wanted to check up on them every once in a while but she didn't want to strain herself. Little did Flower know that someone was watching her intently. It was a rover named Nick. He had an eye on Flower and he wanted to get her attention.

Eventually Flower made her way closer to him without realizing it. She was just trying to find a better foraging spot for herself. Little did Flower know that something was about to change her life and the gangs life forever. In Meerkat society the Dominant female needs to have pups in order to stay Dominant. Flower did have pups but the rover had left because Heir chased him off. This didn't please Flower and she never forgave him. Now she may have another chance at love.

Flower finally looked up and noticed Nick. She looked around to make sure no other females were there. This chance encounter was just what Flower needed to remain Dominant Female. She edged closer and so did Nick. He finally was close enough to groom her. They went off somewhere alone and got to know each other better.

She adn Heir were getting to know each other really well and he was getting nicer and nicer. He loved her very much and she could tell with the way he spoke to her. She loved him too. They began to talk about what Flower was doing right now and they both were blinded by eachother. He spoke of may be dateing in secret for a while.

Skylier loved this idea and agreed with him completely. She wanted this to happen and it was getting late and they both soon enough fell asleep together. Hopfully Flower would not notice. She had wonderful dreams that her and hier were mates and all. She loved him terribly.

Flower was starting to fall in love with Nick. They both talked for the rest of the day until Flower realized that it was getting very late. She immediately made her way back to the group and to her surprise Nick was following. They would most likely become mates and lead the group together. Everybody noticed that Flower was being followed by a mysterious male meerkat and they wondered if he was the new Dominant Male.

Nick soon showed that he was and her started to scent mark their territory. Flower soon led the group off and back to the burrow. They all sat outside watching the sunset and they all groomed each other. Flower was still worried about the splinter group of the Dominators out there but she pushed that thought aside and went below the burrow with everyone else.

It was soon morning and Flower woke up from a deep sleep. She was the last one up today. Nobody minded though because Flower was the Leader of the group and they wouldn't leave without her. Flower sunned herself while everyone else did their chores and cleared out the burrow entrance. Flower started to groom some of the others and they all groomed her back.

Flower noticed that a few more were gone and she was worried about that. They needed all the help they could get. Two particular Meerkats that Flower noticed were gone were Heir and Skylier. Flower made a decision to move burrows after they all foraged.

SKylier and Heir woke up just on time for Flower to move burrows. They both folled in the back and they split so Flower would not suspect anything. She was thankful that they woke just on time. She noticed a strong scent of a male Meerkat in the air. She scurried rapidly to catch up with the group.

She and Heir looked at eachother the whole trip top the new burrow. She hoped that Flower would not worry too much about them. She loved him and she wanted to be with him she needed to ask Flower in the nicest voice possible to ask her if he could be her mate she did not even think about overuling her at all she was too nice to do that. She would not be pregnant either it did not even cross her mind.

Flower led the group to a good foraging patch there was grass everywhere. Grass meant bugs and bugs meant brunch. Flower immediately started to forage, and Nick stuck to her like glue. He obviously loved her but this morning she was not in the mood and she snarled at him. Unfortunately for her Nick didn't stop following her so she would have to deal with his behavior. There was a reason that Flower was so short tempered but none of the group would know for a while. In fact Flower was the only one that knew which is exactly why she was in this foraging patch and was why she was mobing burrows.

Eventually Nick left to stand guard for enemy groups and Roving males. This was a new experience for Nick because just yesterday he was a rover himself. He finally was a part of a group in fact he was the Dominant Male which is a one in a million chance for a Rover. He continued standing watch but he also kept an eye on Heir. Nick noticed that he was looking at a female who wasn't a part of the gang.

Flower kept an eye on Skylier. SHe had finally noticed the female and would not tolerate any monkey business. Just to let loose some held in steam she could just attack Skylier randomly. Flower tried to contain herself and she continued to forage.

She noticed that Flower was keeping an eye on her and she was petending not to notice. She was digging in the dirt to fing grub. she was really no that hugary but she just wanted to act casual. She foung a big juicy bug and carried it to Flower to soffen her mood before she told her that she loved her brother. She looked quite inocent and nice.

Skylier was kind of frightened about what her responce would be to her comment about her brother. "Here you go I found this and I am not that hungary and thought that you might like it. You look hungary to me Flower." Skylier said in a soft voice.

Flower had found a few great snacks but unfortunately that's all they were. They weren't enough for a preagnant Meerkat to enjoy. Flower started to look at the others and saw that they couldn't find very good food either. She sighed and continued to forage.

Flower's foraging was interupted by young Skylier approaching her and giving her a bug. Flower had a feeling she knew what Skylier was up to and she was going to punish her for it. With 6 of thier members gone however Flower needed all the helping paws she could get. Since her pups were going to be on the way soon she would need every female availible to nurse her pups.

She showed her teeth to the subordinate. Wow look how smart she is she thought. Flower took her chance and grabbed the helpless bug and ate it with no care. All she wanted was to keep the family safe and protect her unborn pups. The thing was that she couldn't fight with the danger of being too injured to help her unborn pups.

She was pleased that Flower took the bug and ate it. Deep down inside she felt that this was not the time to approch her with the subject yet. She walked away and let Flower do her foraging. She noticed a male that was clearly the new dominate watching Heir closely that made her only look at her with a tear down her thin face. He did the same thing looking toward the Dominate Male.

They loved eachother dearly and to be torn appart that fast was a hard thing to face. She wanted to be with Heir but Flower would not have it at all. She would probably kick her out of the group and never come out that would mean her brother also probably. She did not want that to happen yet at least.

Flower was finished with her foraging for the moment and it was starting to get dark. She did lead calls and the group followed her. She was on the lookout for a new burrow to house her pups in. After a mile of walking the group had finally found a burrow. This burrow looked clean and Flower immediately set to work on clearing the entrances. This would be their home for about 4 or 5 weeks. After Flower's pup were born they would need to keep things tidy and keep a look out for Predators.

Flower eventually went to bed content with their new burrow. In the next week or two she would give birth. Flower looked around the dark burrow and finally found a sleeping place. Meerkats may not be able to see very well but their sense of smell makes up for that. Soon the family slowly came i and they all cuddled to survive the cold winter night,

She noticed that Flower went to sleep and so did Heir. She was with him cuddled to keep warm. She loved when his paws touched into hers. She wispered into her ear soflty. I love you and I think I should approach my sister that I love you." She was shocked that her would do that for her but she was new and he WAS her brother.

She wispered back to him. "I love you too and when you do tomorrow tell her that if she kicks you out I am too. I love you and want to stay with you for a long time even forever. You are so sweet and nice. Let us go to sleep now and stay close my dear." She loved him so much and she knew that if Flower would thow out her brother she would come along.

Morning came for the Kalahari and Flower was one of the first ones up. Flower wasn't in a very good mood which is why all the females of the group were grooming her submissivley so they wouldn't be kicked out. Flower didn't mind all of the atteintion in fact she was very used to it. Nick came out and also started grooming her. Flower was standing warming herself while being groomed by Nick.

After she was warmed up she helped the others clear the burrow entrance. She was going to be VERY short tempered today because she had a huge feeling that something wasn't right. If anyone in her group was apart of this feeling they would be punished. Flower looked up and noticed that there were many vultures in the air. This didn't bother her and she started off for foraging. This was a typical day for any Meerkat group and they all were content with it. Flower would soon be a mother and she would protect her children from the world.

Flower got off to a very good start she found a beetle. As she was looking around she spotted a turtle's egg. She smiled and grabbed the egg with her mouth. She carried it back to the group and she broke the egg open. She was enjoying her meal.

After Skylier was done grooming Flower with the others she set off for her morning meal. She noticed that poor Heir was approaching his sister while she enjoyed a great meal of a turtle's egg. She was very sad that her boy friend was going to risk everything for her.

"Hello my dear sister I need to talk with you for a moment in private." He said looking at Nick. "I am in love with the new Meerkat here and would love for you to accept her that she is my love and always will be and you cannot change that Flower. I know that you might thow me out but you will have to do the same for Skylier my love." He said straight to his sister.

Skylier rushed toward Heir and stood next to him after his words she said. "Dear Flower I wish not to become the Dominate Female I wish only to be your freind. I am not going to try and over rule you. I love your brother dearly."

Flower was happier now that she was eating an egg. He rbrothe Heir approached her and she turned her attention to him. This was something she was going to despise. She knew he wanted to ask her something.

Hello my dear sister I need to talk with you for a moment in private." He said looking at Nick. "I am in love with the new Meerkat here and would love for you to accept her that she is my love and always will be and you cannot change that Flower. I know that you might thow me out but you will have to do the same for Skylier my love

Flower narrowed her eyes and growled. She looked at Nick and he nodded in response. They were not going to let this pass. She was going to attack when Skylier showed up. Flower looked at her a bit angrier.

Dear Flower I wish not to become the Dominate Female I wish only to be your freind. I am not going to try and over rule you. I love your brither dearly.

Flower growled and looked at her. No way was she going to kick either of them out. She needed them and she couldn't let this romance go on anymore. She attacked Skylier biting her at the base of her tail until she was bleeding. Flower stopped and saw that Nick did the same to Heir. This was their first and last warning. This showed them that if they ever did that again they would be killed.

Whan Floer attached her and Nick did to Heir she was so disappointed and ran far away and intended to never come back she ws really disapointed. She noticed the Heir was also. She finally relized why Flower ws in a bad mood she was pregnant. She went up to Heir.

"I know why your sister is so grumpy she is pregm=nant and that is also why we moved. We need to bring this up after she has her pups." He agreed with a slight nod. She was linping and so was Heir they helped eachother move about the group. She ws stilll crying with many tears falling down her face, he was too.

Flower glared at the two Meerkats as they scurried away. "Do you think we made our point Flower?" Nick asked her. "Yes I do think we did. If they ever do that again they will die" she said in response. He started to groom her and she groomed him back. She loved her brother dearly but he just couldn't go that far.

Flower went back to foraging and found a very juicy Millipede. Flower looked up and still needed to let off some stem. She found one of her daughters,Kooky, and attacked. She bit the base of her tail and she was evicted. Flower turned to see the group chasing her off. Perhaps Kooky could be let back into the group after Flower had her pups but for now she was evicted.

Flower tried to find Skylier but she wasn't able to with the Meerkats spread out. To Flower that was very stupid of them to come up and ask her that. Heir of all Meerkats should know better than that but apparently he didn't.

SHe sat down and started thinking for a while. SHe thought that if heir and her were ran off by the other Meerkats they would be together. She thought about that for a long time. She came to the conclusion that the group needed her and she needed them. SHe might as well just live with only admireing him from afar.

Skylier loved Heir and he loved her and they would sadly not be together for at least three weeks. She would wait until Flower had her pups. SHe is patient and that is right now a good quality to have. She hated to be unpatient but now was the time to take things easy,
